Give fractions a reason to matter.

Same fractions. Now people on a Ferris wheel need her answer.

Alexa slumps at the kitchen table with her chin in her hand, staring at a worksheet of fraction circles.

Alexa: Ugh.

Then Alexa sits cross-legged on the sofa, grinning at a SLICE! comic on a tablet.

How one episode works

SLICE! Episode 1, “A Promise at the Pier”: about 30 comic panels, three big decisions, four endings.

  1. The orange robot thief yanks the glowing power core out of the pier’s power box: “This will power my whole scrapyard.” Leo: “It was running that.”

    Read

A thief steals the pier’s power. People are stuck at the top of the Sky Wheel.

  2. Alexa: “I can stop him.” Leo holds her back: “Alexa. We can help here.” Tally: “The brake holds. The crew needs a way to lower the cars.”

    Choose

Your kid picks the plan: open the control gate or prepare the backup pack.

  3. Tally points at a tray diagram: “Six cells. Three spaces still empty.” Alex: “One more column.”

    Solve

The plan needs math: the motor takes 3/4 of 12 cells. Hints before the choice. Explanations afterward.

  4. The crew brings everyone down. A rider steps off the Sky Wheel beside Grandpa, Alexa and Leo: “Next time, I am starting with the merry-go-round.”

    See what happens

The story follows the answer. A wrong one changes the scene, never ends it.

Is this a game or a comic?

A comic first. Kids read panels with speech bubbles, then make a choice or solve a step of the plan. The story follows their answer.

What if my kid gets the math wrong?

The story keeps going. The scene changes, often in a funny way, and Tally the robot explains the math. Kids can replay to try another way.

How hard is the reading?

Kids read short dialogue and look for clues in the panels.

Does my kid need an account?

No. Your kid opens the link and starts. Only a grown-up can become a member.
